Yesterday, I got a lump in my throat watching President Trump pardon Drumstick and Wishbone in the annual Pardon the Bird ceremony at the White House.  There was also a clip from last year showing Obama pardoning Tater and Tot.  In my inquiring mind, I wondered:  ‘Why are only white turkeys pardoned?’

I turned to Google for the answer and searched Presidential turkey pardons.  Sure enough: all turkeys pardoned by previous presidents were white.  Don’t black turkeys deserve a break sometime?  Obviously not!  Even Tater and Tot, who were white, got pardoned by a black president.

I guess the moral is:  Black turkeys don’t matter.

I see a tee shirt in there somewhere.
