So many problems. So few solutions. The world is awash in unnecessary social and critical defense issues. We’ve tried do-nothing sycophants and now have a hard-nosed boss in charge. The real problem is we don’t have a leader – one who sets the goal and motivates the rest of us to work toward achieving it without threats. (More on this in subsequent posts.)
Since I gained fame by proposing simple solutions to: a) World Hunger (GMO corn), b) Immigration Problems (Purchase Mexico), c) Unbalanced Budgets (colleges and churches required to pay property taxes), and d) Education’s Failure in Black Communities (give every black baby a college degree with his/her birth certificate), North Korea (make a secret deal with China to assassinate Kim Jong Un) and finally – sell advertising on the wall between Mexico and U.S.: If we build it, they will come.
Because of these no-brainers, I’ve been called upon to devise a solution to the NFL’s National Anthem crisis. Actually, it has nothing to do with national pride since most (but not all) football players have a college degree but only the equivalent of an eighth grade education which never included courses in Civics or American History: It has everything to do with the black’s quest for self-defined racial and social EQUALITY.
Here, in a nutshell, is the problem:
- Black players are demanding social change which their team owners cannot effect.
- Players want a bigger slice of profits from the game and more control over team operations.
- Media outlets are hammering the public about dangerous concussions, risks to school children from tackle football and abusive conduct by players off the field.
- Team owners face financial ruin should the NFL collapse, or equally bad, lose TV contracts due to lack of advertisers.
- Player contracts contain onerous (though self-generated by owners) penalties and fines if the athlete is fired for any cause.
The NFL is in dire straits through attacks from the media, parents of future players, player reps and lawyers as well as from black players themselves.
Were I an NFL owner, I’d want out from under this house of cards before it collapses. Trust me, this situation will only get worse – it cannot improve with the current leaders in charge.
Drum roll please!
I propose a meeting between two or three wealthy, but aging, owners who should be tiring of the side show that their industry has created. They agree to have their franchises evaluated by credible outside advisors (i.e. Goldman Sachs) and a sale price fixed, recognizing that in the current environment buyers may be reluctant to step up.
Goldman could then appeal to black investors – primarily Hollywood and sports figures seeking social attribution – to purchase the teams at a reasonable discount, say 10% or, 15% if they agree to pay each player the same salary and bonus for at least two years. It is, after all, a team, where each member contributes to his own best ability. The white quarterback would receive the same as a third string defensive tackle,
It’s a Win, Win, Win, Win.
- Current team owners escape cumbersome contracts and a public relations nightmare at a fair price while still young enough to enjoy retirement.
- Players get EQUALITY.
- The media will be enthralled by having pulled off this social up-heaving against the white elites.
- Fans will continue to watch savages pummel each other every Sunday, hoping for a major injury to an opponent. Sort of like Roman Gladiator days.
Likely sellers might include, Bob Kraft (Patriots), Jerry Jones (Cowboys), Pat Bowlen (Broncos).
You are welcome.
